The five most anticipated games of 2013
2013 is shaping up to be one of the finest years for gamers in recent memory. With Nintendo's Wii U already available for gamers, Microsoft and Sony are expected to amaze gamers all around the world with their new consoles next year, hopefully. Many gamers always say (and expect) that some of the best games for any console are released at the end of their life cycle, and it seems that next year won't disappoint in that regard.
There are many high quality games that are going to be released next year, so if you disagree with this list, it's fine (this list is pretty much subjective). But if I have to only pick up five games, here they are:
1. Dark Souls 2:

The sequel to one of my favorite games (if not my favorite) of this generation and easily the best RPG of this generation. Having spent around 200 hours playing Dark Souls and still playing it regularly, I simply can't wait for the sequel. Yes, I understand that fans are worried that Dark Souls 2 won't live up to their expectations since Hidetaka Miyazaki the director of Demon's and Dark Souls is no longer the director of the sequel and he is merely a supervisor. Also, the recent statements from one of the two new directors (Tomohiro Shibuya) of the game are somewhat worrisome "It will be more straightforward and understandable", but a recent interview published on 4Gamer (translated by a Neogaf user, thanks for him) with Miyazaki and Shibuya made me feel much more comfortable about the direction of the sequel.
Personally, this is my most anticipated game and while it's only 25% complete and might not come in 2013, I'm hoping that the game get released in 2013 and live up to fans expectations. If my wishes came true, then, I will praise the sun.
2. Metal Gear Solid 5:

Ground Zeroes? Phantom Pain? Kojima sure knows how to confuse people and especially his fans. The way I see it is: Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain actually belongs to one game and this game is called Metal Gear Solid 5. I'm a huge fan of the Metal Gear Solid series and it has been a very long time since we have played a brand new MGS game on consoles. I recently have replayed MGS3: Subsistence (I don't really know how many times I have finished this masterpiece) which is included in the MGS HD collection, and I got even more hyped to play the next iteration in the MGS series.
3. Grand Theft Auto 5:

From the two released trailers we have seen so far and from the latest screenshots Rockstar has released for the game, it seems that Rockstar games is planning to create the best and the biggest GTA game of all time. Three playable protagonists, piloting jets, a map that bigger than GTA4, Red Dead Redemption and San Andreas combined surely indicates that Rockstar is cooking a monster of a game.
4. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance:

Some people are saying that Rising isn't a Metal Gear game, yes it isn't , and honestly, I don't care. Having played the demo many times and being a fan of hack and slash games and also a fan of Platinum games previous titles in particular, I'm certain that Rising won't disappoint me at all. Who doesn't like taking control of a badass ninja and slice robots and enemies to pieces?
5. The Last of Us:

I have a very good feeling about The Last of Us. Part of it because Naughty Dog is making it and also because it's a new franchise which give developers some room to try new ideas and offer gamers a fresh experience, hopefully. The idea of non-scripted A.I coupled with the emphasis on survival in both of the story and gameplay should make any gamers anxious to play this game. Also, Naughty Dog's expertise in creating good stories and likable characters won't hurt either.
