GT PSP is a bit dissapointing, will GT5 face the same fate?

By now, most of the gaming community have seen the latest reviews for GT on PSP. But what is extraordinary is the lackluster reviews from well know gaming websites such as IGN (6.8/10), Eurogamer (7/10) and CVG (6.7/10).
While there were some positive reviews (Videogamer.com comes to mind (9/10)), I'm really very disappointed, as I have expected the game to get better scores and to be more positively received by the critics.

GT5-Prologue VGarabia2

While GT5 will be different (it's on PS3), I'm very concerned about the quality of the upcoming PS3 exclusive, GT5. The game has been in development for over three years, and in my opinion, Polyphony Digital the developers of the GT series has made some mistakes during the course of developing GT5; GT Prologue had slowed down the development of GT5, as it made them racing against time to finish the development of the game (I doubt if we will see the game this year). Also, they haven't planned to feature car damage from the beginning of the development, which is questioning the quality of the previously mentioned feature.
GT5 looks very promising as it has over 1,000 cars, 80 tracks and the best graphics seen in a racing game. But GT5 does have a very hard competition this time around from Forza 3. So what do you think, will Polyphony Digital return on top of the game by delivering the best racing sim ever or it will be disappointing like GT on PSP?

Quick question, why are all the PS3/GT fans such vile pigs? What is it with you PS3 people, you guys really are the scum of gaming, especially you game a holic. If he is a yank please don't judge the rest of us based on that douche bag, these guys don't even have rational arguments for why they believe what they believe, everyone else in the comments are having an intelligent discussion, and the Sony fanboys just sound like ignorant borish apes. They just blindly hate anyone who does not worship all things Sony as they do, real sleazebags you guys are. You people are sad and small, none of this gaming shit is serious enough to get all racist and or vulgar over, and Sony sure as heck ain't worth it. You PS3 fanboys are the worst type of fanboys, and we all need to stop pretending, and call these guys on it, VERY few 360 fanboys will get violently emotional and distressed in defense of Microsoft, most 360 fans don't even like MS, so don't give me the old "fanboys are fanboys BS" Just needed to say that.

The GT series is getting rather stale. The formula has been the same for quite a while now. I don't see Polyphony pushing hard anymore. The damage system , in all honesty, is a bit weak. Sorry to say it, I was hoping for big things. The damage system is something that was done about 5-10 years ago. GRID and DIRT1&2 have far surpassed GT5 visually in this department. Gone are the days when GT is head and shoulders above the competition visually. GRID and DIRT match or surpass it (I know these games are more 'arty' in nature, but they are still visually and technically impressive). Need for Speed: Shift really shows the GT visuals can be matched. So what does GT really have? More cars? That's about it really. Forza3 and Turn10 have taken the bull by the horns though. The physics simulation has no peer, they're simulating the tires compressing!!! How cool is that. The visuals match GT this time around, just check out some of the latest videos, there’s very little in it other than fanboy bias now (60fps awesome). They've car customisation tools are second to none. It now has video editing tools. It's online functionality and community is phenomenal in breadth and depth. The damage model surpasses the limited GT5 model. Forza3 is pushing The car sim genre forward... sorry, but Polyphony have fallen off the horse... Turn10 is on it now.

Turn 10 really have taken over now, lets sit tight and see. If you don't buy Forza 3 and GT5 though, then you aren't a real gamer. They both look incredible, Forza has the edge though for better physics, better community, auction house, all cars with full damage including rollovers and car painting. Polyphony has major catching to do and from the previews, they haven't come close so far. Forza 3 had a two year development cycle, what are Polyphony Digital playing at? 160 cars with damage? (a rather sad attempt at damage as well). Maybe work on GT5 not GT5P, GTPSP, helping to build cars or restaurants. It better be vastly better than Forza 3 or the extra years weren't worth it. Turn 10 seem to hold the cup atm.
